With compliments from the chef

Saturday night, we were treated to a one-of-a-kind dinner by our best friends Josh and Bonnie at the 360° Grille in Florence.

Local cheeses...filets...grouper...bread pudding and coffee...a simply amazing meal.

We laughed and ate for nearly 2 and 1/2 hours atop the Renaissance Tower, which rotates 360° over approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and provides panoramic views in every direction over Florence and Muscle Shoals, the Tennessee River, and Wilson Dam (historical narration provided by Jason).

As if this wasn't enough, we were given a truly incredible wedding gift -- a Canon Rebel T3 -- which we subsequently used to capture the evening.

We don't know how to adequately thank them for this AMAZING night and gift!

Breakfast of Losers

A few weekends ago I got the urge to go yard sale shopping.  I thought it would be a great way to save money on some of the items we need for our future apartment.  So I convinced sweet Jason to wake up super early on the one day of the week he gets to sleep in, come pick me up, and join in on my yard sale adventure.  Well it didn't take long before I realized what a yard sale rookie I am.   I failed to compile a list of local yard sales, so we drove, and drove, and drove.  We went to a total of 5 yard sales,  but wound up empty handed.

The following Friday night I was determined to give it another try, so I did my homework.  I searched online for local yard sales and picked several that sounded promising.  I even mapped out an organized route this time around.

The next morning, Jason came to pick me up and we began our bargain hunt once again.  We followed our highlighted route, hoping to strike gold at one of these houses.  Unfortunately, we faced letdown after letdown.  Once again, we wound up empty handed.

Even though we did not find what we needed, we still managed to have a good time (or at least I did).
To add some comedy to our adventure, Jason asked me to illustrate my feelings toward each yard sale, so I did...

To make our defeated selves feel better, we drove to Panera and enjoyed our "Breakfast of Losers".

Hey Jason!  Do you want to try again next Saturday?!! ;)

Something tells me I shouldn't push my luck...  Eh, maybe I'll give it a few weeks and then try again.

Just Another Tuesday Night

Typically Tuesday nights are our designated "Date Night," but tonight we found ourselves doing what we do best...

A Farmer's Life for Me!

Fresh veggies are my favorite!  I could eat them every day and never grow tired of them.  A couple of Saturdays ago I went to a really neat farmer's market in Nashville with my parents and had so much fun walking around and looking at all the organic produce.  It made me so excited about summer and the delicious foods it yields.  This past Saturday Jason and I decided to go to a farmer's market we have here in town.  We originally went to get some squash for a potluck we had Saturday night, but of course we ended up leaving with more than just squash!  We couldn't pass up all the beautiful produce!

We got all this for just $17!!!  With that deal, Saturday morning farmer's market trips might become part of our routine!  Well, Jason says we don't really have a routine.  I say we do now! :)

It is kind of hard to tell from the picture, but the bags of squash and green beans were so BIG.  We had to freeze some because we knew there was no way we could eat all of it this week.

I forgot how relaxing it was to string green beans!  Why didn't I do this before tests?

Because the weather was so beautiful Saturday, we could not pass up a picnic in the park!  After shopping for such healthy food, we decided to continue our healthy eating habits by picking up a cheeseburger and hot dogs at Sam's Super Sandwiches.

Tonight we finally ate our farmer's market goods!  There is nothing quite like a tasty plate of fresh vegetables!  And they taste even better when you eat them outside!

One day we hope we can grow these vegetables (and more) in a garden of our own!

This is Why We Chop!

Last summer Jason and I took a day trip to Atlanta to see the Braves play.  We had SO much fun, and we want to go back again this year!

Jason says the Braves are currently in an 8 game losing streak, so hopefully ticket prices will be a little friendlier on our student pocketbooks!

I can never go to Atlanta without doing a little shopping, and I am SO lucky Jason feels the same way. ;) We went to Ikea and walked around the Atlantic Station shopping and entertainment district.  Afterwards we went to Six Feet Under, a restaurant recommended by a friend of Jason's.  We sat on the top deck of the restaurant and ate some delicious food.

LET'S GO BRAVES!!!

Our First Post!

We are very excited about our new blog! No one knows about it yet so I guess we are writing this to ourselves! After following some of my friends' creative blogs for so many years, I'm not sure mine is going to measure up...but I'll give it my best shot!
